Based on the 3.1 Linux kernel, openSUSE 12.1 offers a choice of the GNOME 3.2 or the KDE 4.7 desktop environments. openSUSE 12.1 uses the new systemd init systemwhich has replaced the classical SysVInt and includes support for the Btrfs filesystem.
